#DEFENDDACA (SL Indivisible is an ally)
On Tuesday September 5th the Trump Administration rescinded the DACA program with a 6-month delay on implementation. For the 10,050+ Dreamers in Utah, this is devastating, potentially life-threatening news. For SL Indivisible and other allies with the immigrant community, WE HAVE WORK TO DO. Why? Senator Hatch came on the side of decency when he announced Sept. 1 that he supports the DACA program. This means he (and hopefully more members of Utah's congressional delegation) will play a leadership role in mounting a legislative solution to restore DACA in law. Our best bet is the 2017 Dream Act (see how it compares to the 2010 Dream Act here). Now the clock is ticking on that process.
